7–10 days: Seoul + Busan or Jeju
Add a second region once you've seen the capital.
With more time, keep 4–5 days for Seoul (as above) and add a second base: take the KTX to Busan for 2–3 coastal days, or fly to Jeju for nature. Ten days lets you do both, or add Gyeongju (ancient tombs and temples) between Seoul and Busan. Book intercity trains and Jeju flights ahead in high season.
