Getting the subway right

Color-coded lines, free transfers, last trains near midnight.

Seoul's subway is extensive, clean and English-signed, with color-coded lines and numbered exits that match Naver/Kakao directions. Tap your T-money card on entry and exit. Transfers between lines are free within the network as long as you don't exit the gates. Last trains generally run around midnight, so check the time for your line before a late night out. Stand on one side of escalators and leave the pink priority seats free.
