춘천

Chuncheon

Gangwon Province's lake city, ringed by water and mountains and famous for dak-galbi (spicy stir-fried chicken). The easy day-trip route from Seoul also passes Gapyeong — home of Nami Island.

Getting there & around

From Seoul — train — The ITX-Cheongchun from Cheongnyangni or Yongsan Station (subway line 1) → arrive Chuncheon Station (or Namchuncheon). About 1h10m, ~₩10,800. The Gyeongchun metro runs the same route for less (~₩2,550) but slower.
From Seoul — express bus — Depart Dong Seoul Terminal (Gangbyeon station, subway line 2) → arrive Chuncheon terminal. About 1h20m, ~₩8,000.
To Nami Island — On the same Gyeongchun line, get off at Gapyeong Station (before Chuncheon). From there take the Gapyeong City Tour Bus (~₩6,000 day pass) or a taxi (~5 min, ~₩5,000) to Nami Island Wharf, then the ferry across (round-trip entry ~₩16,000, ~5 min each way). A zipline to the island is an alternative.
From Incheon Airport — Direct airport buses run to Chuncheon, or go via Cheongnyangni and the ITX.
